Specialists in Food & Drink Surplus Liquidation
Managing inventory levels in the food and beverage sector requires precision, but market shifts often result in excess stock that ties up valuable warehouse space and capital. Whether you are dealing with a cancelled export order, a seasonal product overhang, or a packaging redesign, We Buy Clearance Stock provides a streamlined solution to liquidate your assets.
Operating from Derby, we are ideally positioned to serve the East Midlands and the wider UK market. We specialise in purchasing brand new inventory directly from manufacturers, distributors, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers who need a reliable partner to clear volume quickly without disrupting their primary sales channels.
Types of Inventory We Acquire
Our purchasing focus covers a broad spectrum of the industry. We are particularly interested in large-scale consignments of:
- Ambient Grocery: Tinned goods, pasta, rice, cooking oils, and condiments.
- Snacks and Confectionery: Crisps, biscuits, chocolates, and healthy snacking bars.
- Beverages: Soft drinks, energy drinks, mineral water, and juices (excluding fresh/short-life dairy).
- Health and Sports Nutrition: Protein powders, supplements, and meal replacement shakes.
- Seasonal Overstock: Christmas, Easter, or summer-specific product lines that have passed their primary selling window.
We exclusively handle stock in Brand New condition. This means products must be in their original outer cases or consumer packaging, free from damage, and stored in compliance with food safety standards. We do not purchase chilled or frozen goods requiring a temperature-controlled supply chain.
Maximising the Value of Your Stock
When evaluating a consignment, several variables influence our offer. Understanding these can help you prepare your manifest for a faster turnaround:
Volume and Scale
We operate at scale, typically dealing in quantities ranging from a single pallet to multiple full container loads. Larger volumes often allow for more efficient logistics, which can positively impact the price per unit we are able to offer.
Remaining Shelf Life
While we specialise in clearance, the Best Before End (BBE) or Use By date is a critical factor. Stock with a generous lead time commands a higher value, but we also have established routes for short-dated stock that needs to be cleared within weeks rather than months.
Branding and Packaging
Stock resulting from a brand refresh or a pack size change is highly sought after. If the product inside is current but the exterior packaging is obsolete, we can move these volumes quickly through secondary markets where the aesthetic update is less critical than the product value.
Discretion and Brand Protection
We understand that for many premium food and drink brands, the primary concern is not just the sale, but where the stock ends up. Protecting your brand equity is a priority. We work closely with sellers to ensure that clearance stock does not reappear in their primary retail channels.
We can agree to specific geographic restrictions or outlet limitations. If your corporate compliance requires it, we are happy to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) to ensure the transaction remains confidential. Our resale routes include discount retailers, independent wholesalers, and non-competing secondary markets that operate away from your main customer base.
Logistics and Collection from the East Midlands
Our central location in Derby allows us to coordinate rapid collections across the East Midlands and beyond. Once a deal is agreed, we take full responsibility for the logistics. We use a network of reliable hauliers capable of handling everything from curtain-side trailers to smaller rigid vehicles, depending on your warehouse requirements.
Upon arrival at your facility, our drivers ensure that the pallet count matches the agreed manifest. We aim to clear your warehouse floor as quickly as possible, often within 48 to 72 hours of the final agreement, freeing up your space for live, high-turnover inventory.
The Liquidation Process
To begin the process, we require a detailed manifest of the stock you wish to sell. This should include the product descriptions, EAN/GTIN codes, case sizes, total pallet counts, and BBE dates. Photos of the stock and the labels are also essential for an accurate valuation.
Once we have reviewed the manifest, we will provide an indicative offer. If accepted, we proceed to verify the paperwork, including any necessary food safety documentation or proof of ownership. Payment is issued via bank transfer once the stock has been physically received and verified at our facility, ensuring a secure and transparent transaction for both parties.
